In this series, Carlo will teach you everything you need to know about the entire pitch process and will reveal the format and structure that he uses for each and every one of his pitches.
Carlo is the Founder and CEO of MARANTY MEDIA, the startup that he created in order to demystify the art of pitching for creators all over the world. Prior to founding Maranty, Carlo was a successful writer, producer, and executive specializing in comedy and animation. He most recently served as the SR. DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AT THE RUSSO BROS’ OCTOPIE STUDIOS and CCO AT EXTRA CREDIT STUDIOS, the animation studio he co-founded in 2013. In the past, Carlo has developed, sold, and produced television and digital properties with a wide variety of partners, including NBCUNIVERSAL, WARNERMEDIA, VERIZON, TWITTER, CHARLIZE THERON, ERIC ANDRE, RONDA ROUSEY, FREEFORM, and SYFY, among others. Along the way, he also created THE MOST POPULAR GIRLS IN SCHOOL, an independent stop-motion series that ultimately became one of Youtube’s most popular and impactful scripted series ever, boasting more than 150 million views and 1 million subscribers.

Our Catalyst Spotlight with Actor, Writer, Director & Producer, Katie Locke O’Brien.
Katie hails from New Hampshire and got her start as an actress on shows including JUSTIFIED, WEEDS, COMMUNITY, CHUCK, and Showtime's I'M DYING UP HERE. As a writer, Katie was featured on the prestigious Young & Hungry list in 2017. She co-wrote and produced the award-winning festival films THE REAL TRUTH BEHIND THE REAL TRUE STORY and the feature dramedy THE THING BEFORE THE THING, which came to Catalyst in 2020. Katie has developed comedy series with IFC, ABC & Warner Brothers.
Katie wrote & directed the festival short film DISCARD, and her 2018 short HAVE IT ALL, which she also wrote and in which she stars, was a finalist for HBO's Insider Comedy Short Challenge at the Women in Comedy Festival, a semi-finalist for the NBCU Short Film Competition, and took home the Jury Prize for all Narrative Short Films at the Napa Valley Film Festival. In 2018, Katie was selected for the inaugural class of NBC’s Female Forward Initiative for female episodic directors. She has since directed on multiple seasons of A.P. BIO and the new SAVED BY THE BELL, as well as several episodes each of PERFECT HARMONY, KENAN, and the upcoming CBS comedy GHOSTS.

James Monroe Iglehart is a Tony Award winning actor, voice actor, and singer. He originated the role of the Genie in Aladdin on Broadway for which he won the Tony in 2014. He also originated the role of Bobby in the Tony-winning musical Memphis. Recently, he took on the role in Hamilton for Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson. His TV credits include Coriolanus Burt on "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "The Good Wife," "Gotham," Lance Strongbow on "Disney's Tangled," and "The Electric Company. James is a member of the hip-hop improv group Freestyle Love Supreme.
